GROWING
THE SUBSCRIPTION LIST
If you like The JoyGram, please share it with your friends. I have
set an intention to have 500 subscribers by the end of the year.
The way that will happen is for you to recommend it to others. Help
me spread Joy by sharing it. If you know someone who you think would
like a Coaching for God scholarship, please forward The JoyGram
to them as well.
COACHING FOR GOD SCHOLARSHIPS GIVEN
On December 1, 2003, I gave three more Coaching for God scholarships.
If you want to send an application for the next round, please do
so. The deadline for application is March 30, 2003.
Just
send an email to me at thejoycoach@arn.net
or use the easy form at the end of this newsletter. Tell me why
you want the scholarship. The qualifications are a profound desire
to make the Divine the conscious center of your life and the willingness
to discover and let go of whatever is preventing you from realizing
that.
The
scholarship includes a written inventory, a 90-minute intake session
and eleven 30-minute coaching sessions.
Here's what a former recipient recently said about the experience
of having a Coach for God: "I feel that my heart, mind, body, and
soul, and most importantly, my inner being have been simply transformed
by our time together, Peggy. God has embraced me and helped me to
grow through you like nothing I've ever experienced before." B.C.,
St. Louis, Mo.
WHAT'S
NEXT?
Life
is constantly changing. Even when I think I know what’s next, I
often find out that I don’t. The thing that makes it hard or easy
for me to handle what shows up seems to be my attachment to what
I think is to be next and what I believe is SUPPOSED
to happen.
December
was planned. First, I would get all my ducks in a row in order to
be able to fly to Seattle on December 3rd, where I was going to
meet, spend time and workshop with friends, students and fellow
coaches. On December 7th I was to drive to Portland with my friends
and collaborators Rose and Darby and have a couple of days to plan
our new classes and go to the beach! Then I planned to fly back
to Texas on December 10th and finish the cleaning, remodeling and
redecorating of my fiance’s house. We are planning to get married
on December 31st in Santa Fe. I am scheduled to move into his house
the weekend after Christmas. You notice I am now using language
that says “This is the current plan”, NOT “This is what will happen”.
Circumstances
happened. It started last Monday morning, December 1st, when my
sister called from the emergency room to say she’d had our 88-year
old aunt taken there by ambulance because Aunt Nita was unable to
get out of her chair. It was a fractured hip. Tuesday afternoon
Aunt got a new plastic hip. She’s pretty healthy and is doing well
except for some confusion about where she is and exactly what’s
going on. We all have fun with that. Yesterday, she wanted to know
why I was on the floor. I said “Well, that’s where I usually walk.”
From her perspective in bed, she thought it looked like I was on
my knees.
AND when you’re 88, there are a lot of risks with major surgery.
I cancelled my trip to Washington and Oregon. I spent a few hours
Monday evening determined to make the trip anyway and trying to
see how I could manage (that means “control”) all the people and
issues so that it could happen as I had PLANNED it. Then I remembered
to ask God for guidance as to what to do. My anxiety left and I
was very clear that my best choice was to let go of the planned
trip.
I
have been a student of A Course in Miracles for many years. There
is a prayer in the Workbook that I often share with friends and
clients. When you wake up in the morning, before getting out of
bed, ask the Holy Spirit:
What
would You have me do today? Where would You have me go? Who would
You have me talk to? What would You have me say?
Whenever
I feel anxious about what is next, if I remember to say this prayer
and then be very still and quiet, waiting for the signal in my solar
plexus that feels calm and peaceful, I know what to do. Sometimes
it is not what I had planned. It is always a choice that leaves
me feeling serene. Even though there have so far been no complications
with Aunt Nita’s surgery, I am glad I chose to stay here.
Now, to go get boxes, pick up the rug shampooer, decide about that
little desk, that red leather chair, all that stuff in the guestroom.
Will my clothes fit in that closet? Who’s going to do the ceremony?
What ?????? … oh yes, I remember: What would
YOU have me do today? And so it will all get done, or not,
with God’s loving hands and universal vision guiding the process.
What’s
next for you?
Meet
my fiance’, Allen Parker.
He’s the taller bunny!
"What
would God choose to SEE now? ...What choice would you make in any
given moment if you knew that you are one with God?...Know that
this simple question has the power to change the way you SEE everything...In
essence, this question, properly understood, will change the world."
